September 1, 1993 Park Board Minutes
5
Anderson said we could do some plantings to help screen. My
preference is not to fence anything. If .residents want, they can but
would like to suggest not to do it for about two years until you have a
chance to see how it works.
A resident thought it might be a good idea to have that put in writing
and passed on to all residents.
Anderson said that a memo could be done after the plan is complete.
A resident asked if there would be any athletic facilities that would be
lighted.
Anderson responded no. Perhaps a light in the parking area but that
would be it.
Kinzie commented that the residents are listened to by New Brighton
staff people. Forester, Rick Wriskey is wonderful and wilt help with
plantings.
Eichers asked if Nursing Home residents would be using the park.
Anderson said it is quite a distance for them. Don't think they will be
using it very often but haven't talked to them.
Ocel said she is bothered by the fact that there is no access on 12th.
If a park entrance looked like someone's yard, I would not walk
through there to get to the park. Those people are cut off from .the
park.
Anderson stated that if a path were put in it would have to take part
of the berm out and some trees. If we get calls we could do it but
would like to see how it works first.
Kinzie suggested putting up a sign.
Carlson suggested putting up a corner split rail fence to identify the
area as a path.
A resident said the person who lives in the house is very concerned.
Anderson said yes, she was unable to be here but expressed her
concerns to me.
A resident said for her son to ride his bike to the park he has to go in
on Innsbruck.
A resident suggested talking about this at their block party.
Anderson liked that idea and said he would also talk with her within
the next month.
Olson asked if there was curbing.
