NEW BRIGHTON PARK BOARD MINUTES OCTOBER 7, 1992 I. The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by Chair Olson II. Members present: Carlson, Kalina, Kinzie, Ocel, Olson, Trevorrow, Council Rep. Benke Members absent: Eichers, Helgeson, Knuth, Rose II1. Minutes of August 5, 1992 were approved as submitted with Loyal Rose being noted as present at the meeting. IV. Correspondence A. Council Report A donation of $1,000 was received from St. John's for playground equipment at Veterans Park. A donation for Neighborhood Watch Program was also received. Park paths at Hansen are now finished. At Driftwood the trails are from Wexford Heights to picnic area around ball field to the parking lot. At Creekview a limestone walk way has been installed. A grant for tree planting was awarded, we are still in the. running for a second grant. Hearings are being held regarding reconstruction of Silver Lake Road south of 694. Landscaping, adding turn lanes - 1994 project which will finish in 1995. Long range planning process -extended process to include more community input. Two citizens groups, a city leaders group and a specific civic group for leaders have been formed. Information gathered will be used to design a general survey to be sent to every home in New Brighton. Results of survey will be used at a mini Town Hall meeting -identify issues for residents and use for the annual planning in January. The final report will be presented in April at the 16th Annual Town Hall meeting. Get a cross section and use on a bi- annual basis. Three Park Board members; Knuth, Kinzie and Carlson were part of that process. Implement housing quality study -homes and apartments 20 years old not letting decline take place; be proactive to prevent decline. A Task Force of realtors, lenders, home owners, tenants, school folks will be involved in the study.
