May 6, 1992 .Park Board Minutes <br />Anderson said on that site the trees were mostly. diseased Chinese <br />elm. But on private property there are no restrictions. <br />Benke did .add that Wexford Heights did include new growth <br />landscaping when their final plat was brought before the Council. <br />Benke stated that some trees have been transplanted. <br />C. Concerned New Brighton Parents <br />The Park Board received a copy of a letter from concerned parents of <br />children trying out for Little .Lakes Little League regarding baseball <br />tryouts. The concern was that children trying out were not treated <br />fairly. <br />2 <br />Knuth commented that maybe the letter could be forwarded on to the <br />National Little League Association. <br />Comments were made that other sports organizations such as MVAA <br />Baseball and IBA try harder to accommodate all children. <br />Anderson said he would write Little Lakes Little League a letter asking <br />them to respond to the letter sent to them by the concerned parents. <br />MOTION BY CARLSON, SECONDED BY KINZIE, TO HAVE MAURIE <br />ANDERSON WRITE A LETTER TO THE LITTLE LAKES. LITTLE LEAGUE, <br />ASKING FOR A RESPONSE TO THE LETTER WRITTEN BY THE <br />CONCERNED PARENTS. MOTION CARRIED. <br />V. New Business <br />A. Discussion/Overview of Golf Programs -Mary Burg <br />Mary Burg was unable to make it because of preparation for the <br />Driving Range but she will come in June. <br />Helgeson stated he had a friend who made a proposal to the City <br />for the driving range and when the driving range went up it was a <br />similar design. <br />Anderson said the City asked for quotes to operate the driving <br />range by a private vendor. A design was not required but he did <br />provide one. He wanted a long term contract and the City was <br />not able to meet his requirements. He did put a fair amount of <br />work into his proposal. <br />Benke said he recalls that he wanted a long term commitment and <br />the city could not commit to that. <br />
