April 1, 1992 Park Board Minutes 4
Berke asked if the senior club could expand.
Schultz said the club did not want to expand beyond the current 160
members so the group doesn't loose its identity.
Carlson said this is a good example of why we need a senior center.
Anderson commented that we have an 11 passenger van donated by
the New Brighton Chamber of Commerce and a Ramsey County Block
grant. It is used mainly for seniors and we get a lot of use out of it.
Carlson told Schultz that he is amazed at the quality and scope of the
programs that have been added since you've been on board.
Schultz added that she really enjoys her job.
B. Purchase of Funk Property
Anderson showed the Park Board on a map the location of the Funk
property, on the boarder of Sunny Square Park. The property is land
locked and would be hard to develop. The City does not need it
although it would square off the park. It is a small city lot.
Carlson said it sounds like it would just be more grass to mow.
Anderson said it could be used to expand the play equipment.
Olson inquired about the asking price.
Anderson thinks they would ask about 520,000 but he said he would
recommend no more than 510,000.
Anderson said no action was needed at this time.
VI.
