~(/~/` oe.vc~ jt.2 ~- <br />-_~ <br />November 16, 1992 <br />To: Pazk Boazd Members <br />From: .Rick Wriskey, City Forester ,~ <br />r <br />Re: Christmas Tree Recycling & Sign ~~~ <br />~~~ <br />Please consider helping out with this season's Christmas tree recycling by signing-up for a <br />two hour shift at one of the two sites {see list). <br />This yeaz's program will take place on Saturdays, January 2nd & 9th, 1993 from 10:00am to <br />2:OOpm. We will be helping people unload and stack the trees. They will be run through a <br />chipper sometime during the week. <br />Last yeaz we collected about 1,500 trees. That was equivalent to about 23 tons of material <br />kept out of the waste stream! <br />The chipped trees are used on the City's trails and landscape beds. These same chips are <br />available to the public as well but because of high needle content they find limited use. <br />Instead we make available a better quality hazdwood mulch at three city sites: Hansen Pazk, <br />Brightwood Hills Golf Course and Hidden Oaks Pazk. We aze thinking of expanding on this <br />for 1993. <br />The tree recycling information will be advertised in the City Newsletter and local papers. <br />Please refer any questions or comments to me at 633-8906. <br />I hope to see you in January! <br />
