INTPODUCTION <br />X13/ `~/ <br />VRAF r <br />This initiaitve, NEW BRIGHTON F'F~IDE, is a proposed program <br />designed to improve the quality of life for all New Brighton <br />citizens and guests. This proposal is intended as a blueprint <br />for action and requests hJew Brighton leadership to embrace and <br />carry forward this proposal. <br />The primary goal of-this initiative is to enable and empower New <br />Brighton residents to take action to maintain and improve their <br />environment. This initiative ~iay be linF:ed to other initiatives <br />related to conservation and the environment. <br />To be successfull it is imperative that NEW BRIGHTON F'RIDE be <br />positioned so that e~sery citizen believes there a~i 11 be <br />meaningful personal benefit - economic andlor psychological. <br />Coincidentally, all. New brighton property owners will benefit <br />ew;:~r~orr~i cal l y through greater attractiveness of the community and <br />tl-ieir neighborhoods which will enhance property values. <br />Businesses will benefit because of greater patronage and <br />government will benefit because of increased tax proceeds. <br />This proposal requires refinement and input from all <br />constituients prior to implementation. A key ingredient will be <br />a substantial and continuous public relations program. A well <br />planned, long term commmintment by strong leadership will be <br />essential. <br />II. ASSUMPTIONS <br />New Brighton citizens wish to maximize their Quality of Life. <br />New Brighton property owners wish to maximize the value of their <br />property, especially when they intend to sell their property. <br />New Brighton citizens will take increased pride and care of <br />their property and surroundings if they are encouraged to care, <br />if they believe others are equally contributing, and if they <br />helieve they will benefit. <br />New Brighton leadership believes that this initiative nicely <br />supports their long term goals and strategy for our community. <br />New Brighton leadership recognizes this initiative could <br />pD51t1Dn New Brighton uniquely attractive in the metro area, <br />resulting in many benefits. . <br />New Brighton citizens and leadership recognise there are many <br />
