November 6, 1991 Minutes <br />Anderson said this could be a tie between the city and county park boards. <br />4 <br />Anderson said if we do this, it should be done in January or February because it <br />takes 6 - 8 weeks to change an ordinance. <br />MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY OCEL, TO HOLD THE MEETING <br />SOMETIME BEFORE FEBRUARY. MOTION CARRIED. <br />Anderson said he will contact Greg Mack and Wayne Eck and Wayne will <br />contact the homeowners. <br />Kinzie commented on how beautiful the new trail is coming into Long Lake Park. <br />Will the ski trails be groomed? <br />Anderson said the county said the ski trails would be groomed but he didn't know if <br />they were done last year. <br />Ocel said she had received some information from "Friends of the Parks" stating that <br />funding for parks is in jeopardy. <br />Anderson said the regional parks could lose some funding. <br />Anderson said he understands that the new trail into Long Lake Park will be <br />completed next summer. The County has the money in the bank. <br />Anderson said Ramsey County has been required to remove $300,000-$600,000 from <br />park maintenance. The County parks budget has been hacked about 20%. Some of <br />the County services are mandated and can't be cut so parks is hit hard. <br />Ocel asked if the Park Board could do something -like petition. <br />Anderson said what might be appropriate would be to have someone from "Friends of <br />the Park" come and talk to the Park Board. <br />Olson mentioned this was the time Dave Van Hatten used to start planning for the <br />Christmas Party. <br />VII.
