September 4, 1991 Pazk Board Minutes
Anderson said the tennis court configuration will be left up to the engineers.
The work will start this fall.
A resident asked if there would be a tennis practice board.
Anderson said we will try to put one in, but it may not be on great soil.
B. Thank you
Bazbaza Kalina and family sent a thank you to the Pazk Board for their
expression of sympathy and support upon her husband Ron's death. She
informed the Park Boazd that their gifts of money would be used for a tree
memorial in Ron's name to the New Brighton pazks.
C. Task Force
5
Anderson said the City Council is forming a 22 member task force for the
study of a community center for senior citizens in the Cities of New Brighton,
Mounds View, Spring Lake Pazk and Fridley. The City is allowed six
representatives on the Task Force. Once a month meetings on Thursdays.
Anderson asked if anyone was interested in serving ont he committee to let
him know.
Olson said she was interested.
Rose said finding a location for the center to please everyone would be tough.
Anderson said the golf course is one of the proposed sites. We would relocate
the clubhouse on this site and add on to the current building. We have a
tentative agreement with Salem Baptist for parking and would add about a row
and a half of parking.
Johnson said he has had comments from residents on two issues; one was
when would the bridge be complete on the north side of Long Lake, the other
was some negative comments from people on the new fence on Silver Lake
Road on the golf course. Residents asked if vines could be planted or
something to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
Anderson said he was told by Ramsey County that the bridge would be
completed by the end of September.
Anderson said vines will be planted. The fence was installed because a golf
ball went through the windshield of a caz and hit the driver.
