Scott Johnson said he is glad this was brought up.
He thinks it is a good idea.
Johnson asked the value of the homes that will be
built.
Scott Johnson said $150,000-$250,000 range. That
mix goes together well. The more expensive homes
will probably be to the north.
Scott Johnson said that he was not involved with
the parcel in the Southeast corner of the
development. It said it will probably be rezoned
B-1. It could go either way; commercial or multi-
family.
Gunderman asked what Arcon would do with the pond
if it were not dedicated as park land.
Scott Johnson said they would keep it but wouldn't
get much use out of it. It's a nice open area and
there is value in the fact that the people who
have homes on the edge will not have homes behind
them.
Gunderman commented that it will mean more grass
mowing for our Park Maintenance Dept.
Anderson said that it is his intention not to
manicure the slopes. We will let the grass grow.
Mowing will be done on either side of the path but
probably no more.
Rose asked if the access goes out to Silver Lake
Road.
Scott Johnson said it will.
Anderson said it will be a nice addition.
Seward said it is very steep by the church.
Anderson said some benches could be put in. The
property is still valuable. There is a lot of
area at Hansen Park that is not usable because of
low land or water but that is still important to
the park. If the pond were a stand alone piece of
property, it would not be valuable but it is a
nice addition to the park.
Rose asked if most of the trees would be taken.
