March 6, 1991 Park Board Minutes
Ocel said she would like to see any park
dedication money from this project go into the
park in this area rather than somewhere else.
Anderson that's what he prefers too.
Anderson said the developer could develop the
trail.
Johnson said if this is a good plan, let it slide
through easily. The lots will then be easier to
sell.
3
Anderson said the developer will come to the April
meeting to show their complete plan.
Johnson said he would like to have berms and
landscaping-around the commercial area.
MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY OCEL, TO APPROVE
ARCON DEVELOPMENT PRELIMINARY PLAN FOR THE JUO
PROPERTY WITH 100% PARK DEDICATION CREDIT FOR
BUILDABLE LAND AND 50% CREDIT FOR LAND SURROUNDING
THE POND. MOTION CARRIED.
B. Meadow Wood Soccer Field
Anderson stated the soccer association has asked
for help in finding an area in New Brighton for 10
year olds to play soccer. The choice was either
Vermont or Meadow Wood Park. They preferred
Meadow Wood. Two trees may have to be moved and
the aglime in the ball field infield will have to
be removed.
Johnson asked for a cast estimate on that project.
Anderson said it would be about $600.
Johnson asked if the soccer assn. would be willing
to pay a portion of that.
Anderson said we have never requested that of
other athletic associations.
Rose commented that there is no parking lot.
Anderson said they would use the shopping center
lot.
