Placing the bars closer together would enable children with shorter <br />arms to use this piece of equipment. Refinishing the wood <br />throughout the park would reduce splintering. If future equipment <br />is to be built perhaps a different type of wood that doesn't splinter <br />could be used. During observation teenagers were skateboarding on <br />the loading ramp behind Rice Creek Shopping Center. This <br />demonstrates a need for a skate board facility such as a ramp or a <br />small skateboard pool. The south-east corner would be and <br />appropriate place for this apparatus. <br />Two important facilities that are missing from Meadowood <br />Park, are a telephone and bathroom. A possible reason for the <br />absence of these features might be that the park. was intended ...for <br />the near by residence. The prescence of a telephone and a bathroom <br />in the park would be more convenient in case of an emergency. This <br />would prevent children,. not from the surrounding area,.. from <br />crossing the parking lot, in order to use the shopping centers <br />facilities. <br />11 <br />
