JANUARY 3, 1990 PARK BOARD MINUTES
6
Fratt said he will try to work out what the Park Board wants
and figure in economics for themselves.
Pratt confirmed that the land around the pond could be used for
his park dedication up to 500.
Johnson said the prime concern for the Park Board is expanding
the existing park so others coming in can benefit.
Anderson said the Park Board would recommend to the Council and
Planning Commission that the land within the green area around
the pond that may be under water be worth 50o park dedication
and that additional land in the area be dedicated for the
balance of park dedication land and that this plan comes back
to the Park Board before final approval is .made. Would have to
see the plan on paper before approving it.
Pratt said he is bringing something to the Planning Commission
next week.
Anderson said we have sometimes combined the Planning
Commission meeting with the Park Board. The Park Board prefers
to meet for about 1/2 before the meeting.
Seward said he is uncomfortable meeting without seeing a plan.
Van Hatten said we could approve a concept of the plan but we
need to see the final plan before we can approve it.
Van Hatten asked about the density of the development and how
it fits with RI as the City defines it.
Pratt said it could have considerably more density. The
development is density requirements.
MOTION BY OLSON, SECONDED BY VAN HATTEN, TO ADD APPROXIMATELY
TWO ACRES FOR THE PARK DEDICATION TO THE SOUTH PART OF THE
EXISTING PARK WITH 50$ CREDIT FOR THE LAND ABOVE THE BOUNCE
LINE AROUND THE POND, AND TO BRING BACK A CONCEPT PLAN FOR PARK
BOARD APPROVAL.
Steve Larson said we have been trying to see the final plan for
a long time.
Johnson told Pratt it is to his advantage to come up with a
workable plan.
MOTION CARRIED.
