<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 25, 1986 <br /> <br />Council Business, continued <br /> <br />Proper had nothing further to add to the staff report concerning <br />a purchase option for the property at 1560 - 29th Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />LeFevere stated it appears the city is going to pay a relocation <br />benefit to the tenant on the site and the city be able to get a <br />waiver of relocation rights for the owner as well; recommended <br />that the authorization to execute the purchase agreement be made <br />contingent on securing an effective waiver of relocation benefits <br />by the owner. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Schmidt, to AUTHORIZE THE EXECU- <br />TION OF A PURCHASE AGREEMENT, CONTINGENT ON SECURING AN EFFECTIVE <br />WAIVER OF RELOCATION BENEFITS BY THE OWNER, FOR THE PROPERTY AT <br />1529 - 29TH AVENUE N.W. FROM MR. TERRY BARRETT AT THE APPRAISED <br />VALUE OF $73,000 AND TO SELL THE EXISTING DWELLING BACK TO MR. <br />BARRETT FOR $1,000. THE CITY WILL ALSO INCUR $6,750 FOR RELOCA- <br />TION COSTS AND RENTAL ADJUSTMENTS AS A RESULT OF THE PURCHASE. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Following a discussion of whether or not to continue the Open <br />Forum's, Williams moved, seconded by Schmidt, to AUTHORIZE THE <br />MAYOR TO CALL OPEN FORUMS, TO BE HELD BEFORE REGULAR COUNCIL <br />MEETINGS, AS NEEDED FOR SPECIAL ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED; SAID <br />OPEN FORUMS TO BE CALLED IN SUFFICIENT TIME FOR PUBLIC NOTIFICA- <br />TION. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />Sinda reviewed the letter the city received from General Walker <br />regarding the litigation and the Army's desire to meet with New <br />Brighton to negotiate; has been in contact with John Drawz; <br />stated Proper is working with our engineering consultant to make <br />certain we know our position going into the meeting. <br /> <br />In naming a negotiation team, Sinda suggested the Mayor and <br />Schmidt, because they have the continuity of the situtation <br />through LitManCom, Drawz and himself, and then anyone else <br />council felt should attend the negotiation; understands from <br />Vento's office that the Army has settled with people around the <br />Denver munitions area. <br /> <br />Page Twenty <br /> <br />Purchase Option - <br />1560-29th Ave. N.W. <br />Report 86-77 <br /> <br />Open Forum <br />Report 86-79 <br /> <br />Announcements <br />and Updates <br /> <br />Water Contamination <br />Litigation <br />
