<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 25, 1986 <br /> <br />Announcements and Updates, continued <br /> <br />Benke announced that the Financial Policy Advisory Board has di- <br />vided into subgroups to discuss the various requests (Tax Incre- <br />ment Policy, water and sewer rate structure, etc.). <br /> <br />Kelley updated council on the Suicide Subcommittee's meeting this <br />morning; announced a community leaders workshop would be scheduled <br />in April to discuss prevention and after-care. <br /> <br />Schmidt announced that, in response to the city's grant request, <br />all grants had been approved and Gary Berger should contact the <br />Cable Administrator for details. <br /> <br />Sinda distributed a draft agenda for the Town Hall Meeting on the <br />22nd of March and council made assignments. <br /> <br />Following a discussion it was determined that, because the Eagles <br />did not wish to sponsor the Town Hall Meeting luncheon this year, <br />in lieu of the City paying for a luncheon, the funds would best <br />be spent on personnel to do a live cable broadcast. <br /> <br />Williams inquired about responses to the latest article seeking <br />applicants for the vacancies on the various boards and commis- <br />sions; Administrative Secretary responded there had been no fur- <br />ther applications received. <br /> <br />Sinda announced there would be an Executive Session immediately <br />following the council meeting to update council on police labor <br />negotiations. <br /> <br />Winkels updated council on the outcome of Leila Nicol's court <br />case concerning her feeding ducks stating the case was dismissed. <br />Both attorneys made their opening arguments, and the judge dis- <br />missed the case after hearing a motion of Nicol's case. <br /> <br />Sinda indicated Tom Hughes, the City's attorney, will write a <br />short memo which can be shared at a meeting of Benke, Sinda, <br />LeFevere, and Hughes. <br /> <br />Proper announced the groundbreaking for the city hall addition <br />would be Friday, February 28th, at 4:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Page Ten <br /> <br />FPAB- <br /> <br />Suicide Committee <br /> <br />Cable Update <br /> <br />Town Hal' Meeting <br />Draft Agenda <br /> <br />Commission/Board <br />Vacancies <br /> <br />Executive Session <br />Police Union <br /> <br />Duck Feeding <br /> <br />Groundbreaking <br />
