<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 28, 1986 <br /> <br />Proper had nothing to add to the staff report concerning an Agree- <br />ment for engineering services for Iron Removal Facility and New <br />We 11 House #13. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Williams, to APPROVE AN AGREE- <br />r~ENT i="OR ENGINEEREiG SERVICES FOR THE IRQfl REr10V/'l.L FACILITY AND <br />NEW iJELL HOUSE #13 WITH R[:J~E CA.R.r::OLL :;1ULLEf~ AtJDi'l.SSOCUHES, Ir~C. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Proper had nothing further to add to the staff report concerning <br />the acquisition of a lot for City Well #13. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Gunderman, to AUTHORIZE STAFF TO <br />OBTAIN AN APPRAISAL AND NEGOTIATE A PURCHASE PRICE FOR THE RESI- <br />DENTIAL LOT NORTH OF HIDDEN OAKS PARK. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing further to ado to the staff report concerning <br />the Police Addition/City Hall Expansion; noted the bid did not <br />include any landscaping, but that it did come under budget even <br />though it was felt it might have been between $80-$100,000 <br />higher. <br /> <br />Benke asked if staff was satisfied with the lower bidder being <br />well-qualified and capable; Sinda responded that the architects. <br />Lindberg Pierce, Inc.. had worked with the low bidder on several <br />occasions and they feel comfortable with the contract. <br /> <br />Brandt inquired about the commencement of corstruction; Sinda <br />indicated it would begin twenty days following the signing of <br />the contract. with completion within 330 days. <br /> <br />Benke asked for clarification that by deleting Option #2. staff <br />would work in the existing building during construction and <br />renovation; Sinda responded affirmatively. stating staff had <br />thoroughly researched the cost of moving (approximatcly $25- <br />$30.000) during construction but that. after the bids came <br />in, it was determined to not be cost-effective to do so. <br /> <br />Schmidt expressed concern about potential Change Orders; Sinda <br />stated the project was large enough to have a Supervisor on-site <br />and that Proper would be the Ci~y's liaison. <br /> <br />Motion by Gunderman, seconded by Schmidt, to ACCEPT THE LOW BID <br />Or: $1.107.815 WITH C.
