In response to Sinda's request for staff direction, Benke felt a need to develop some concrete proposals and specific recommenda- tions for consideration and action with an update report and action decisions made at the next council meeting, with a target of creation formulation at the second meeting in August with staff, Benke, and Brandt developing a statement of charges for the organization. Announcements and Updates Berger announced he and Krueger attended the Ramsey County League of Local Governments last Wednesday and both expressed concern that both New Brighton and Mounds View were left out of the Metro plan for development. Benke stated the rationale was that New Brighton and Mounds View are west of 35W, with probably more interest and attraction toward Minneapolis; the consequence to us and other northern suburbs is that we are kind of on the fringe of that group also with geography and that we (New Brighton, Mounds View, Arden Hills, and Roseville) maybe should be focusing our interests on our own group, but feels we should continue to monitor and participate in both groups. Benke further stated that he will be working with Sinda, Locke, Paul Fournier and Jim Faust to promote New Brighton in a broader area.
