Inc. <br />Proper is investigating costs and will have a report on <br />May 14. 1985. <br /> <br />Stockyard Days. <br />Inc. - Lighting <br /> <br />Benke reported that the League of Minnesota Cities' attempt Local Government <br />to forge a concensus on Local Government Aid has been shot Aid <br />full of holes; various lObbying groups want formulas for <br />their own use; legislature is going in many different direc- <br />tions; it is frustrating to try to keep track. Sinda noted <br />that at this point legislature is having a hard time deciding <br />which way to go because of the different parties; the League's <br />policy is not yet dead in the house; they are doing some real <br />sorting; and believes if they go through the same process the <br />League's committee went through. they might came pretty close <br />to what the League prepared. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Janecek announced that Sam Goodmanson. UOP Johnson, called UOPSold <br />her to let the city know that UOP had been bought out and the <br />sign will change but nothing else will. Schmidt asked if the <br />purchase would affect Edwin Taylor's project; Winkels respond- <br />ed that it would not because Taylor has been dealing with <br />Johnson's realty company. <br /> <br />Benke notec that this week's issues of the "Focus" and "New "Council's <br />Brighton Bulletin" carry the inaugural version of Council's Corrments" <br />Comments. <br /> <br />Administrative Secretary reminded council of the joint meeting Special Meeting <br />with the Park Board and the Planning Commission to discuss the Called <br />JUO property at 7;00 p.m., Wendesday. May 1. 1985; and the <br />need to canvaas the voting machines from Tuesday's referendum <br />at 6:45 p.m. in the Maintenance Garage prior to the joint <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus. seconded by Blomquist, to CALL A SPECIAL <br />MEETING OF THE COUNCIL ON WEDNESDAY. MAY 1. 1985, AT 6: 45 pm <br />TO CANVAAS THE VOTING MACHINES FOR THE APRIL 30. 1985, REFER- <br />ENDUM AND TO THEN DISCUSS THE JUO PROPERTY WITH THE PARK <br />BOARD AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION. <br /> <br />5 Aves - 0 Naves.
