<br />Council t1inutes <br />June 11, 1985 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Susiness, Petition, continued <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt, to ACCEPT THE PETITION <br />CONCERNING THE PARKING AND TRAFFIC PROBLEMS ON 25TH STREET NW <br />AND 14TH AVENUE NW AND TO SUBMIT IT TO STAFF FOR REVIEW, WITH <br />A RECOMMENDATION DUE TO THE COUNCIL ON OR BEFORE JULY 23, 1985, <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Krueger reviewed staff report concerning the review of SP-92, <br />as stipulated by Council Resolution 2351 dated July 22, 1980, <br />for United Theological Seminary. <br /> <br />Harcus stated he has received no complaints from the neighbor- <br />hood and moved, seconded by Blomquist, to FIND THAT THE CON- <br />TINUED USE OF DORMITORY SPACE FOR FACULTY OFFICES AND A LOUNGE <br />AT THE UNITED THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY IS STILL CONSISTENT WITH <br />THE FINDINGS OF FACT OF RESOLUTION 2351 AND THAT THE USE OF <br />THE DORMITORY SPACE FOR FACULTY OFFICES AND LOUNGE ARE PERMITTED <br />TO CONTINUE SUBJECT TO FURTHER REVIEW IN FIVE YEARS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Schmidt stated he has been in the new office building and feels <br />it fits with the neighborhood. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Sinda had nothing to add to the staff report concerning the <br />contract for City Hall Expansi on/Renovati on, <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek, to APPROVE THE <br />CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON AND LI~JDBERG PIERCE <br />INC. FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY HALL EXPANSION/ <br />RENOVATION PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $82,000 PLUS $2,300 FOR <br />LANDSCAPE DESIGN MASTER PLAN TO INCLUDE ALL CITY-OWNED LAND <br />SURROUNDING THE PROJECT SITE, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Winkels reviewed the staff report, as distributed at this <br />meeting, concerning three applications for Industrial Revenue <br />Bonds and recommended a public hearing on July 9, 1985. for <br />each application, Winkels summarized that there were approx- <br />imately $19 Million in applications and that the City has $9 <br />Million in allocations from the State and noted that all <br />applicants have a great deal of work to do and a great deal <br />of information to submit to the City, Staff feels that all <br />three projects are very good and would be excellent for the <br />Ci ty. <br /> <br />Wi nkels proceeded to update the City Council on the pendi ng <br />legislation; stated the financial community feels that funds <br />for Industrial Revenue Bonds should start flowing back into <br />the State pool within the next few months; felt New Brighton <br />should be able to pick up some of those funds within the <br />next sixty to ninety days, <br /> <br />Page Four <br /> <br />SP-92 - United <br />Theological <br />Seminary <br />Report 85-166 <br /> <br />Lindberg Pierce <br />Contract for <br />City Hall <br />Report 85-167 <br /> <br />IRB Applications <br />- Ski llman <br />Corporation. <br />New Brighton <br />Inns.
