<br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 9,1985 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sinda stated that the 1984 audit report from Voto, Reardon, <br />Tautges & Co., Ltd. had been distributed to the council and that <br />Bob Voto would like to come and address the council. Benke <br />suggested at the end of the agenda on July 23rd~ Blomquist stated <br />that that agenda may be a 10na one, following the Planning Commis- <br />sion's meeting on the 16th. Sinda suqgested the first meetinq in <br />August and council concurred that would be best and asked staff to <br />set Uf) i1 lJOrkstloi' follOl'Jinn the Auqust 13, 1985, council meeting. <br /> <br />Sinda advised council that on the July 23rd agenda there would be <br />an item regarding a Community Development Block Grant through <br />Ramsey County stating that, because Ramsey County now has a popu- <br />lation just over 200,000 (not including St. Paul proper) it would <br />be eligible for S2-$3 million per year as long as the block grant <br />dollars were there. Blomauist stated that all cities in Ramsey <br />County must support the aoplication so, if councilmembers had any <br />contacts in other municipalities, the council should encourage <br />them to support the application for the funds. Benke asked staff <br />to let council know if they hear of any municipality that is <br />a~ainst it. Blomquist stated the RCLLG has adopted a resolution <br />in support of it and is trying to facilitate some discussions; <br />at the last Board meeting, there were no communities identified <br />as being opposed to the application. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sinda advised councilmembers that he had met with the Parks and <br />Public Works Committee of the County Board last Monday, July 8th, <br />to discuss long Lake Reqional Park and it was determined at the <br />meeting that it would be appropriate for the County Board, the <br />New Brighton City Council, and the New Brighton Park Board to <br />tour the Park. A date has not yet been set, Harcus believes we <br />have a water surface problem, <br /> <br />Benke stated counci1members would be receiving a notice from the <br />AMM seeking volunteers to serve on a committee. Benke encouraged <br />the counci1members to apply and to call the AMM staff with their <br />committee preference.
