I would like to
briefly review what I consider some of the major highlights of the year.

"Mother Nature provided our City employees and volunteer firefighters with
a real test of their capabilities and endurance during the April tornado.
Thi s was 1 ater tested by Man when the oil 1 ine on the south end of town
was broken. In both cases, the employees and volunteers passed with fly-
ing colors.

"Despite these unplanned interruptions, the City accomplished much during
1984.

I

liThe water situation continues to improve with the completion of two new
wells with iron removal plants. Next month, or possibly this month, we
hope to have a third well with an iron removal plant in place and operat~
ing. This third iron removal plant will, hopefully, remove the last of
the red-tainted water in some small areas, pockets, of town that still
receive it.
