<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />March 13, 1984 <br /> <br />Kelley had nothing to add to the staff report con- <br />cerning the request for an on-sale liquor license <br />for Oregano Gardens, DBA Pizza Factory except that <br />he had architectural plans available for review, <br />and that Dale Ekegren was present for comments. <br /> <br />Dale Ekegren stated that he has had the restaurant <br />for about five years and, if he gets the license. <br />is hoping to run it the same as he has in the past. <br />He further stated that he felt the Pizza Factory has <br />been an asset to the community. <br /> <br />Dave Ulrich, Spectacle Shoppe, stated he has had no <br />problem with vandalism with the Pizza Factory, that <br />Dale Ekegren runs a real nice operation, and would <br />recommend that Ekegren receive the liquor license. <br /> <br />Lenny DeMan, Video Generation, thinks the Pizza <br />Factory, with the liquor license, would be an asset <br />to the Center, there is a lot of traffic flow that <br />could help, and knows that other merchants feel the <br />same way. Further, he stated that as a merchange <br />he is for the granting of a liquor license. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Harcus, to close the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />3 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Harcus mentioned that he feels the Pizza Factory has <br />been an asset to the community and supports the <br />application of the liquor license. <br /> <br />Benke asked if the insurance coverage had been <br />resolved and the City Attorney stated that he did <br />not believe so. <br /> <br />Benke asked if the operation was to be remodeled, <br />he would like to see the plans. Kelley provided <br />Benke with the plans. Benke asked if the separate <br />room was for the bar. <br /> <br />Ekegren stated that the restaurant part would be <br />for family dining and that the bar would have access <br />to the mall and also through the restaurant. He <br />further stated that only persons of legal age would <br />be permitted in the bar area. <br /> <br />Benke questioned percentage of sales of food versus <br />liquor. <br /> <br />Kelley indicated that the ordinance requires the <br />majority of revenues to be from food sales. <br /> <br />Page Four <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />Liquor License for <br />Pizza Factory <br />Report 84-53 <br />
