He felt the current council should live up <br />to that commitment. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Benke, to HAVE LEGAL <br />COUNSEL AND ENGINEERING STAFF REVIEW THE LEGALITIES <br />OF CREATING AN ORDINANCE FOR RESIDENTS OF PALMER <br />DRIVE 10 MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND RESPOND AT THE NEXT <br />COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />Citizens of Palmer Drive mentioned they would enjoy <br />that restriction, and asked if there was a way to <br />restrict the children from riding their bikes in <br />the driveway, yard and garden. <br /> <br />Benke thought the City should look at whether per- <br />mitting the neighborhood would be feasible. <br /> <br />Schmidt stated that how far we go with permitting <br />coul d be discussed once we fi nd if it is 1 ega 1 . <br /> <br />Peg Stokes, 1313 Pike Lake Drive, indicated that the <br />Palmer Drive citizens should be petitioning the <br />builder to put in a street. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Motion hy Harcus, seconded by Benke, that THE CITY <br />OF NEW BRIGHTON JOIN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES <br />AT AN ANNUAL COST OF $926.00 AND THAT THE CITY SEND <br />REPRESENTATIVES TO THE CONFERENCE ON AN ANNUAL <br />BASIS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Blomquist indicated he would like to consider a <br />request for application to join the Municipal Legis- <br />lative Commission at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Schmidt stated that in March a compromi se had been <br />reached and that the following day legal council <br />and Roger Frank (North Suburban Cable Commission <br />Administrator) met and ironed out the final two <br />issues.
