<br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October 25, 1983 <br />Page Six <br /> <br />The Finance Director reviewed the resolution <br />providing for the adoption of the 1984 Liquor <br />Operation Budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading and adopt the RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />THE ADOPTION OF THE 1984 BUDGET FOR LIQUOR. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding the City Golf Course parking lot <br />bids, project #83-14. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Janecek to award <br />the bid for the Brightwood Hills Golf Course <br />parking lot improvement, project #83-14 to Munn <br />Blacktop, Inc., in the amount of $35,446.50 <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Finance Director reviewed the staff report <br />regarding change in salaries for the mayor and <br />councilmembers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated that if the Council <br />was going to be reimbursed for expenses in <br />addition to authorizing an increase in salaries, <br />they would in effect be giving themselves two <br />raises. He further stated he felt the salaries <br />should be left as they are and reimbursement for <br />expenses should be approved. <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek stated that the staff time <br />involved in processing the expense reimbursement <br />plan made her favor an increase in salaries. <br /> <br />Councilmember Blomquist stated he agreed with <br />Councilmember Janecek, and that he preferred an <br />increase in salaries. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated he felt the public <br />would be more comfortable with the raise than <br />expenses because it was something that could be <br />" seen" . <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the Council rules, waive the reading, hold the <br />second reading, adopt and order publication of <br />an ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CHANGE IN SALARIES <br />FOR THE ~~YOR AND COUNCILMEMBERS to $435 FOR <br />THE MAYOR AND $335 FOR COUNCILMEMBE~S. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 1 Nay (Benke) - motion carried <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHOR- <br />IZING THE 1984 <br />LIQUOR OPERATION <br />BUDGET-Report #83- <br />279 RESOLUTION #83 <br />126 <br /> <br />Consideration of <br />Bids for Golf Cours <br />Parking Lot Imprv. <br />Report #83-280 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE AUTHOR. <br />CHANGE IN SALARIES <br />FOR MAYOR AND <br />COUNCIL-Report #83- <br />281, ORDINANCE#512 <br />
