<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />October 25, 1983 <br />Page Five <br /> <br />Sewer in the Old Highway is/Mound Avenue area for <br />November 9, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the representative <br />from Barr Engineering was not able to make the <br />meeting that evening. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to <br />receive the draft of the Storm Water Management <br />plan, and to refer it to the Park Board, Environ- <br />mental Quality Commission and Planning Commission <br />for comment and schedule a time with Barr Engineering <br />for discussion at a later date. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Finance Director reviewed the staff report <br />regarding the Ordinance establishing hours <br />for the liquor stores. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated he was inclined to <br />suggest that the City not open operations until <br />noon on election day. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that polls opened <br />at 8:00 a.m. and the voters could cast their <br />votes before the liquor operation opened. He <br />further stated that what was good for private <br />industry should be good for public. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated he felt that the City Liquor <br />Operation hours should be consistent with other <br />liquor operations. <br /> <br />Consideration of <br />Storm Water Mgmt. <br />Plan-Report #83-27 <br /> <br />Second Reading of <br />an ORDINANCE ESTAB <br />LISHING HOURS FOR <br />THE LIQUOR STORES <br />ORDINANCE#5ll <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to waive <br />the reading and hold the second reading adopt and order <br />publication of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE <br />NEW BRIGHTON CITY CODE WHICH CHANGES THE HOURS OF <br />OPERATION FOR THE MUNICIPAL LIQUOR STOl::mS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek reminded staff that the Council <br />did not wish the Liquor Operations to open until affer <br />noon on election day. <br /> <br />The Finance Director reviewed the staff report <br />regarding the financial statement for the Liquor <br />Operation. <br /> <br />Financial Statemer <br />Jan.-August, 1983 <br />Liquor Operation <br />Report #83-278 <br />
