<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />December 27, 1983 <br /> <br />Janecek indicated this should be addressed at the Assess- <br />ment Meeting next summer. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to accept the <br />work and authorize final payment of the contract of <br />concrete street repair work in the Poppyseed Area Pro- <br />ject #83-3, the final amount of the contact being <br />$85,362.26. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />An announcement was made by the City Manager that the <br />Mayor of the City of Falcon Heights was retiring and the <br />City was having a Recognition Day on January 8, 1984. <br />Anyone wishing to attend should contact the Administrative <br />Secretary. <br /> <br />City Manager stated Mayor Harcus had received a phone call <br />about the accumulation of snow on Silver Lake Road and <br />1-694. <br /> <br />Les Proper indicated that this is an annual complaint and <br />that the bridge is scheduled to be widened to six lanes, <br />with two left turn lanes. It was felt that we must let <br />the citizens know that it is the county's responsibility. <br /> <br />Schmidt indicated that he was not so concerned about <br />responsibility, but the injury to someone living in the <br />City and that we should take care of it. <br /> <br />City Manager suggested a higher railing. <br /> <br />Blomquist asked if we could close the road to pedestrian <br />traffic. <br /> <br />Schmidt suggested we let the county know that if they don1t <br />clean it up, we'll close the bridge and send complaints to <br />the county. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek. seconded by Benke to direct staff to <br />determine, through legal counsel, what can be done to remedy <br />the situation. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Page Nine <br /> <br />Retiring Mayor of <br />the City of Falcon <br />Heights. <br /> <br />Work Session for <br />Advisory Committee <br />Application Reviews <br /> <br />Snow Accumulation on <br />Silver Lake Road <br />over 1-694 <br />
