<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />Counc i1 Mi nu tes <br />January 10, 1984 <br /> <br />Page Five <br /> <br />Consideration of Leasco Training Center, Ciga- <br />rette License (new) <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Cit~ Manager reviewed the staff report regarding the <br />Munlcipa1 Caucus and the City's potential membership of <br />same. <br /> <br />Municipal Caucus <br />Membership <br />Report #84-4 <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus indicated that the City should take an <br />active role in lObbying and this would be a good means <br />to do it. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to have the City of <br />New Brighton formally become a member of The Municipal <br />Caucus. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to amend the previous <br />.motion to add lIand to designate Henry Sinda as the City's <br />de1egate.1I <br /> <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nayes, Amendment Carried <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nayes, Motion Carried as Amended <br /> <br />City Manager reviewed the staff report regarding appoint- <br />ments to the Rice Creek Watershed District, as requested <br />by the District. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Watershed <br />District Surface <br />Water Committees <br />Report #84-5 <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to appoint Les Proper, <br />City Engineer, to the Technical Advisory Committee and to <br />ask Environmental Quality Corrunission for their recommenda- <br />tion in appointing an elected official and a citizen to <br />the Citizen's 509 Task Force. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />City Planner reviewed the staff report regarding an amend- <br />ment to the zoning code concerning fencing. This amendment <br />is an attempt to bring the city code into compliance with <br />the Uniform Building Code. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to waive the reading <br />and hold the first reading of an ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION <br />4-540 OF THE NEW BRIGHTON ZONING CODE PERTAINING TO FENCES. <br /> <br />Zoning Code <br />Amendment, Fencing <br />Report #84-6 <br /> <br />Benke stated that this was a delightful piece of deregula- <br />tion. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />: ., ~'~ .'. ~"".'. , ,\"' . ,. <br />
