<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes <br />February 14, 1984 <br /> <br />Bob Pierce, Lindberg Pierce, Inc., reviewed the plans and <br />specifications for the remodeling project, stating that <br />they would be on the next agenda for approval. <br /> <br />Schmidt asked about who would be preparing this resolution <br />and doing the legal work associated with this project. <br /> <br />Winkels stated that O'Connor & Hannan would. <br /> <br />In trying to figure out the compensation arrangement that <br />was worked out with O'Connor & Hannan, Schmidt asked if <br />there was a difference between having that firm do this <br />project versus some other project because this is a city <br />development versus some improvements that we might make <br />for some other project. <br /> <br />Winkels stated that O'Connor & Hannan was the Bond Counsel <br />for public and private projects and that they only get <br />paid for bonds that materialize. <br /> <br />Motion made by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to waive the <br />reading and adopt the resolution AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE <br />AND SALE OF THE GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR THE REMODELING <br />OF THE FIRE STATION AT 8.2%. <br /> <br />5 Ayes ~ 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />City Engineer had no further comments to the staff report. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janacek to REFER THE <br />REVISED WINTER MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES TO THE CITIZEN STUDY <br />COMMITTEE TO REVIEW AND COMMENT. <br /> <br />Benke mentioned that the language seems to suggest that <br />only when the street staff is ready to fall over would we <br />call in parks staff. <br /> <br />City Engineer commented that it was written so there would <br />be fl ex i b il ity . <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Dan Freeman, Secretary/Treasurer for the Fire Department <br />Relief Association, presented the staff report clarifying <br />that the minimum monthly retirement benefit would change <br />from $150 to $200 and that the previous schedule went to <br />0% (Percentage of Increase Applicable to Retired Member) <br />and the current one cuts it off at 50%. <br /> <br />Blomquist noted that the question of the date of retirement <br />had been clarified. <br /> <br />Page Eight <br /> <br />Revised Winter <br />Maintenance <br />Procedures <br />Report #84-44 <br /> <br />Fire Department <br />Relief Association <br />Pension Benefits <br />Changes <br />Report #84-45 <br />Resolution #84-15 <br />
