<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Minutes - <br />February 28, 1984 <br /> <br />Benke indicated concern about the quarry tile and <br />carpeting in the side entrance and hallway being <br />too slippery when wet. <br /> <br />Bauer indicated that that entrance is the entrance <br />to the office, one-half level up, and would not be <br />in the firefighter's traffic pattern. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt, to ACCEPT <br />THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE FIRE STATION <br />ADDITION AND TO AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR <br />BIDS. BIDS TO BE RECEIVED AND OPENED AT 11 :00 A.M. <br />ON MARCH 29, 1984 AND THE CONTRACT AWARDED ON <br />APRIL 10, 1984 and TO AUTHORIZE THE SOLICITATION <br />OF QUOTES FOR THE ABANDONMENT OF OLD WELL #1 and <br />#2, THE QUOTES TO BE BEFORE COUNCIL FOR CONSIDERA- <br />TION AT THE MARCH 27, 1984 COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes, Motion Carried <br /> <br />Jim Winkels reviewed the staff report and distribu- <br />ted a letter dated February 25, 1984 from Trans- <br />Continental Lodging Company (TLC). <br /> <br />Lowell Ainas, President of MILO Architect~ presented <br />an artist's rendering of the building indicating <br />that the wing includes a mini-retail mall which is <br />not included in the exclusivity but TLC will work <br />with developer on this portion. The top floor of <br />the struction will have a dining room and lounge; <br />the 'street level will have the registration desk, <br />gift shop~ coffee shop and bar in the one-story <br />portion. The structure will contain a swimming pool, <br />meeting rooms and will have 96 employees (all but <br />four will be locally hired). <br /> <br />MILO will proceed to refine plans while financial <br />plans are made in Texas. No city financing will be <br />required. Tentative dates are the first part of <br />July for groundbreaking, with completion in March <br />or April of 1985. <br /> <br />Benke questioned distance between St. John's School <br />and the location of the liquor operation in the <br />structure.
