D. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br /> <br />Joyce Kl on:z was present to discuss plans and <br />events for the upcoming New Brighton Stockyard <br />Days Celebration. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Harcus to direct <br />staff to work closely with the Stockyard Days <br />Committee in coordinating details for the celebration. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to waive <br />the reading and hold the first reading of an <br />ORDINANCE REGULATING THE EXPENDITURE OF REVENUES <br />DERIVED FROM THE SALE OF LONG LAKE PARK LANDS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek "requested staff to check <br />discrepancy in account numbers on the ordinance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke requested staff to estimate <br />the annual proceeds the City will be looking at <br />and compare those to costs and capital outlay <br />for parks. <br /> <br />The Police Chief reviewed the staff report <br />regarding membership in the Minnesota Police <br />Recruitment System and appointment of a City <br />Representative to M.P.R.S. Executive Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to <br />authorize the Mayor and City Manager to enter <br />into a joint powers agreement with the Minnesota <br />Police Recruitment System. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />No discussion or action was taken on consideration <br />of preliminary unaudited 1982 Financial Statement for <br />the Liquor Department.
