<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />April 26, 1983 <br /> <br />more for high pressure sodium lights, if they are <br />more energy efficient. <br /> <br />Councilmernber Benke indicated that the City could <br />delay the conversion now and possibly have less <br />cost at a later date. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated the benefit of increased lighting <br />was not proportionate to the increased cost incurred <br />by the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to authorize <br />NSP to convert all mercury street lights to high <br />pressure sodium as the mercury ballasts fail, and <br />to direct staff to communicate the Council position <br />to NSP by letter. <br /> <br />4 Ayes - 1 Nay(Harcus) - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report on <br />the proposed Fridley Hazardous Waste Processing <br />Site. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to take <br />no action but to have 'the staff keep the council <br />informed on the matter. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed the letter from the <br />Metropolitan Transit Commission regarding the <br />appointment of a staff member to their inter- <br />agency project management board. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke indicated that the appropriate <br />person for this appointment would be the City <br />Planner when hired. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />appoint the Director of Community Development <br />as staff representative to the Metropolitan <br />Transit Commission project management board <br />until a City planner is hired, who will assume the <br />position. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - o Nayes -motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Finance reviewed the staff report <br />on a RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INTERFUND LOAN <br />FOR THE 1983 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist, to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING INTERFUND LOAN FOR THE 1983 <br />CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Page Six <br /> <br />Fridley Hazardous <br />Waste Processing <br />Site - Report #83- <br />100 (Supplement) <br /> <br />Staff Appointment <br />to MTC Interagency <br />Board <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHOR. <br />INTERFUND LOAN FOR <br />1983 CONSTRUCTION <br />PROJECTS, RESOLU. <br />#83-53 <br />
