<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />May 10, 1983 <br /> <br />Page Six <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated the City would have to <br />correct the problems pointed out by the electrical <br />inspector, and questioned whether the Council could <br />take any action at that time since staff only had <br />two quotes available. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to direct staff <br />to solicit at least two proposals and to authorize <br />the Acting City Manager to approve electrical work for <br />the Downtown Bar in an amount not to exceed $5,000, <br />subject to the approval of the electrical inspector. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer stated that due to an error in <br />the mailing of notices of a public hearing on <br />Improvement Project #83-12, there was a resident <br />present, and suggested a motion be made to suspend <br />the Council rules of procedure in order to consider <br />a Public Hearing on Improvement Project 82-12. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br />8:40-8:41 p.m. <br />Improvement <br />Project #83-12 <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to suspend <br />the Council rules of procedure and hold a Public <br />Hearing on Improvement Project 82-12. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Mr. Leonard Juran, 803 8th Avenue N.W. stated he was <br />present because he wanted to make sure that everyone <br />was still in agreement on this project, since a year <br />had past. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Harcus to continue <br />the Public Hearing until May 24, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />General Announce- <br />ments & Updates <br /> <br />Mr. Gayle Bromander was recognized from the floor, <br />and presented a letter to the Council requesting <br />the City Council and New Brighton Hi'storical Society <br />explore the possibility of obtaining the use of the <br />ballfield at the Community Resource Center in con- <br />junction with the old maintenance site, as a temporary <br />or permanent site for the Historical Society depot/museum. <br />The Mayor, with consent of the Council directed receipt <br />of a letter from Gayle Bromander. <br />Mayor Harcus presented an update on Local Government <br />Aid proposed legislation. <br /> <br />Moti~n_b-Y,_li,~rcus, seconded by Blomquist, to adjourn at 8:42 p.m. <br /> <br />, - <br />5.--~ye~__,:",O--N?tyes - motion carried <br /> <br />~..~. <br />'.' ~. . e .
