Conformance with site and building plans <br />as submitted and signed by the applicant <br />and Director of Community Development. <br /> <br />4. Wall treatment on the north side of the <br />building be made to conform with the <br />City Ordinance within a three year period. <br /> <br />S Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />and staff recommendation. <br /> <br />Award Bids projects <br />82-~2, 83-~, 83-2, <br />83-3 - Report #83-14 <br />RESOLUTION #83-6~ <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that his under- <br />standing was that the original approval was <br />based in part on the ability to attract good <br />bids and felt that since those good bids had <br />in fact been received it might be appropriate <br />to notify residents of the bid results. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION AWARDING BIDS <br />FROM IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 82-~2, 83-1, 83-2, and <br />83-3. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to <br />amend the motion by adding an item to direct <br />staff to communicate to neighborhood residents <br />the bids that had been received. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke stated that he felt it may <br />be premature to notify residents as bids could <br />possibly be changed due to in-field problems that <br />might result and that also potentially better bids <br />could have been received next year. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that he just felt <br />that the good news should be shared with the <br />residents. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated that he felt that there was <br />still a ways to go on the street program and that <br />he had received numerous phone calls regarding the <br />projects this year. <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated he questioned whether we need <br />a program of the quality as now proposed. He <br />further stated that many of his calls were people <br />criticizing the lack of actual data. Mayor Harcus <br />said that he would like to see staff prepare inform- <br />ationregarding the age of streets, condition of <br />streets, over the life time of the streets, condition <br />of streets in five-year increments, and other infor- <br />mation that would enable the staff and council to <br />adequately address the street program issue. <br />
