<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />August 23, 1983 <br />Page Three <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Harcus to waive the <br />reading and adopt a RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSAL TO UNDERTAKE AND FIN- <br />ANCE A COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding bids on Well #12, Project #83-12. <br />He further stated that the M.P.C.A. approved <br />the construction of City Well #12 that day. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt to <br />award the bid for new City Well #12 to the low <br />bidder, Layne Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$185,078. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Finance Director discussed the need for <br />changing the meeting date of November 8th. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to <br />change the regular scheduled Council Meeting <br />of November 8th to November 9th at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The 1984 Budget had been discussed at a <br />Council Work Session prior to the regularly <br />scheduled Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist <br />to schedule a Council Work Session for the <br />purpose of discussing the Budget, September <br />6 and September 8 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />5 Ayes - 0 Nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The City Engineer reviewed the staff report <br />regarding the special assessment deferment <br />for St. Mary's Hospital. <br /> <br />The Finance Director stated that with pre- <br />payments from other projects the City can <br />meet the cash flow needs. She questioned <br />whether the City could restrict St. Mary's <br />from going delinquent with the interest. <br /> <br />The City Attorney responded that it would <br />not be illegal to accelerate payments in the <br />event they became delinquent.
