We still have some work to
do and perhaps that leads us into the next topic. How do
we increase sales. We have to determine what our real
potential is.

The Acting City Manager reviewed the staff report.

Liquor Study
Proposals
Report #83-238

Mayor Harcus stated he felt the Council was
specific as far as what they wanted to do when they
requested the proposals. She felt the Council was
being overly concerned with the viability of the
operation and that they should concentrate on turning
the operation around.

Councilmember Benke stated when the City went into
the operation it was with the understanding that it
would take awhile to turn the operations around. He
further stated that any study that is done today or
tomorrow could be outdated in a few months. He
stressed the importance of knowing what the potential
is for the operation. He indicated that some of the
areas of expertise outlined in the proposals would
probably be needed, but the City has experts to advise
the Council and to develop a program. He further stated
they should let the Council know if they need additional
help.

Councilmember Schmidt stated that to consider the
possibility of selling the operation was a legitimate
