<br />City of New Brighton <br />October 26, 1982 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember Schmidt stated that he also felt <br />an advisory board may be beneficial given the <br />concern for soil and water conditions and also <br />0iven the significant interest in resource recovery <br />operations. councilmember Schmidt suggested that <br />an advisory board could include members of the Park <br />Board, EQC and perhaps the Industrial Task Force. <br /> <br />Notion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to create <br />an advisory board for the Bury/Miller Development <br />District and to: <br /> <br />l) Set tl1l.;= number of members at a figure of not to <br />exceed lli <br />2) Direct staff to solicit applications for membership <br />on the advisory board; <br />]) Include as potential candidates for membership on <br />this advisory board representation from the Planning <br />Commission, EQC, Park Board, the Long Lake Improvement <br />Association, the New Brighton Historical Society, <br />and the Industrial Task Force. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Harcus stated that he could see no need for this <br />additional advisory board and stated that he felt the same <br />end could be accomplished using the existing Ci~y advisory <br />boards and for that reason stated that he could.not <br />support the motion. <br /> <br />Vote on motion. <br />4 ayes - 1 naye (Harcus) - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Benke to appoint Councilmember <br />Benke a~ the Council Representative to the Bury/Miller <br />Development District Advisory Board. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Blomquist to move <br />agenda item #13 up on the agenda prior to consideration <br />of the agenda item #12. <br /> <br />The City Planner reviewed the staff report and <br />information received from Ramsey County, <br />Pollution Control Agency and the New Brighton <br />Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Zoning Compatibility <br />Electric Equipment <br />Service Corporation <br />ReporL No. 82-270 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Brian Schoberg, part owner of the business, <br />was present to answer questlons. Mr. Schoberg <br />stated that they were attempting to comply with <br />all regulatory requirements and that they felt they <br />were experts in the field of the handling of PCB's. <br />hr. Schoberg stated that all the work is done <br />on-site and that only empty drums that have been <br />previously cleaned and spa led at the job site would <br />be brought onto this location. <br /> <br />-7- <br />
