<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />November 9, 1982 <br /> <br />Mr. Wayne Leonard, Ramsey County Coordinating <br />Engineer, was present to discuss the Long <br />Lake Road~'bridge over Rice Creek project <br />and the County Road 0 upgrading project. <br />Mr. Leonard noted that these projects have <br />been previously approved by the City Counc~l, <br />but had not proceeded due to lack of funding. <br />Mr. Leonard noted that to re-submit applications <br />for funding, Council approval by resolution is <br />once again necessary. Mr. Leonard noted that <br />they were anticipating construction in 1984. <br /> <br />Councilmember Benke asked if the water capacity <br />question regarding the Long Lake Road bridge <br />proje7t had been resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Leonard stated that the widening of the <br />Long Lake Road bridge would leave the channel <br />unchanged with no increase or decrease in capacity. <br /> <br />Councilmember Janecek stated that she had received <br />a telephone call from a resident in the area of <br />the Long Lake Road bridge questioning why the <br />need for the bridge widening project. <br /> <br />~r. Leonard indicated that the present bridge I <br />will accommodate the two lanes of traffic, <br />however, there are safety concerns for pedestrians, <br />bicycles and for the traffic that is generated by <br />Irondale High School.
