<br />" <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 668 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ABATEMENT OF WEEDS; AMENDING NEW <br />BRIGHTON CITY CODE SECTIONS 17~61 THROUGH 17~64. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS as follows: <br /> <br />Section 1. New Brighton City Code Section 17-61 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 17~61. Notification to property owner to abate weeds. <br /> <br />The weed inspector or the weed inspector's delegated assistant shall notify serve <br />notice on the affected property owner that weeds which are on his property, must be <br />I eradicated, or controlled, in the manner prescribed by the inspector. <br /> <br />(a) The notification shall require abatement of the weeds, or other prescribed action, <br />vv Ithin by a specified time which shall be ten (10) days or less from date of service or mailing <br />notice. <br /> <br />(b) The notification shall state that the city will take appropriate remedial action to <br />eradicate or control the weeds upon expiration of said t"'<1 (10) d<ry 5 the specified time, with a <br />charge to the property owner for costs. <br /> <br />Section 2. New Brighton City Code Section 17-62 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 17 ~62. Manner of notice. <br /> <br />Eradication notice for noxious weeds as described by section 17-60, shall be made in <br />accordance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes, ChapteI 18.271 Sections 18.76 to <br />18.88. <br /> <br />Notice for eradication or control of all other weeds shall be made by first class mail to <br />the property owner or posted on the property. If the owner is not in possession of the <br />property, then a copy of the notice shall be sent to the lessee, occupant, or agent of the owner <br />of the premises. <br /> <br />Section 3. New Brighton City Code Section 17.63 is amended as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 17~63. Abatement by city on public property, private property. <br /> <br />The weed inspector, his delegated assistant, or other delegated agent of the city, shall <br />cause removal or other prescribed action of any weeds located on public property; or on <br />private property, upon expiration ofthe time prescribed in the notice to the owner.
