<br />" <br /> <br />l; <br /> <br />certificate of insurance must be filed with the City. <br /> <br />Sec. 15-510 <br /> <br />Health and Sanitation Requirements. <br /> <br />1. It is unlawful to engage in the practice of tattooing, body piercing, body branding or <br />body painting at any place in the City without complying with the regulations of this <br />subsection. <br /> <br />2. Lavatory Requirement. A place where tattooing, body piercing, body <br />branding or body painting is practiced must be equipped with an adequate <br />and conveniently located toilet room and hand lavatory for the <br />accommodation of employees and patrons. The hand lavatory must be <br />equipped with hot and cold running water under pressure, be maintained in <br />good repair at all times and kept in a clean and sanitary condition. Toilet <br />fixtures and seats must be of a sanitary open front design and readily <br />cleanable. Easily cleanable, covered receptacles must be provided for waste <br />materials. A lavatory facility must be provided with an adequate supply of <br />hand cleansing compound and singe-service sanitary towels or hand-drying <br />devices. <br /> <br />3. Skin Infection. A person having a skin infection or other disease of the skin <br />may not be tattooed, painted, or branded. <br /> <br />4. Sterilization and Disposal of Bio-Hazardous Materials. Needles, razor <br />blades and other equipment used for pierced, branding or puncturing must be <br />individually pre-packaged, sterilized and disposable, and this equipment may <br />not be used on more than one customer. Bio-hazardous waste must be <br />disposed of in accordance with law, and disposal procedures shall be <br />approved by the health authority. Approved sterilizing solutions and <br />methods may be used for the purpose of sterilizing instruments other than <br />needles and razor blades when such sterilizing solutions and methods are <br />approved by the health authority. <br /> <br />5. Skin Preparation Procedures. The following procedures must be used for <br />skin preparation. <br /> <br />a. The operator must wash hands thoroughly with soap and water <br />following the hand washing procedures as approved by the health <br />authority and then dry them with a clean towel before and after each <br />tattooing. Operators with skin infections of the hand may not <br />perform any tattooing, body piecing, body branding or body painting <br />services. <br /> <br />b. If it is necessary to shave the skin, pre-packaged, pre-sterilized, <br />disposable, razor blades shall be used. <br /> <br />c. The skin area to be tattooed, pierced, branded or painted must be thoroughly <br />cleaned with germicidal soap, rinsed thoroughly with water, and sterilized <br />with an antiseptic solution approved by the health authority. Single-service <br />towels and wipes must be used in the skin cleaning process. <br /> <br />d. After tattooing, piercing or branding, a sterile dressing must be <br />applied to the tattooed, pierced or branded area. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />OneratiOl! Furniture. Tables, chairs, furniture, or area on which a patron <br />receives a tattoo, body piercing, body branding or body painting must be <br />impervious to moisture and properly sanitized after each tattoo, body <br />piercing, body branding or body painting.
