<br />; Sec. 21-54.1. Eligible Employees. <br /> <br />: (1) Regular and probationary regular employees are eligible for the benefits listed in Sections <br />. 21-54.2 through 21-68. These benefits are offered to employees at the time of the passage of <br />, this Chapter. These benefits may be changed, amended, clarified, altered, or rescinded by the <br />City at any time. <br /> <br />(2) Effective January 1,2000, regular part-time employees are eligible for the benefits listed in <br />Sections 21-54.2,21-56, and 21-64-67. Regular part-time employees shall be credited with <br />years of service in an eligible position to determine their accrual rate. <br /> <br />Sec. 21-54.2. Holidays. <br /> <br />(1) The following holidays will be observed as paid holidays: <br />A. New Year's Day, January 1. <br />B. Martin Luther King Day, the third Monday in January. <br />C. President's Day, the third Monday in February. <br />D. Memorial Day, the last Monday in May. <br />E. Independence Day, July 4. <br />F. Labor Day, the first Monday in September. <br />G. Veterans Day, November 11. <br />H. Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in November. <br />I. The day following Thanksgiving Day. <br />J. The afternoon prior to Christmas Day (half day). <br />K. Christmas Day, December 25. <br />L. Floating Holidays (1 Yz day non union). <br /> <br />(2) Whenever any of these holidays falls on a Saturday, the preceding day shall be observed as a <br />holiday. Whenever any of these holidays falls on a Sunday, the following day shall be observed <br />as a holiday. <br /> <br />(3) At the discretion of the City Manager, employees who are required to be on duty on a <br />, holiday shall be given either the following day as a holiday, or given an additional day of <br />: vacation leave. <br /> <br />(4) The holiday schedule specified in this Section shall be based on an eight hour day. <br /> <br />, (5) If an employee is on paid leave, then the employee receives the paid holiday instead of using <br />accrued leave for that day. <br /> <br />(5) Regular part-time employees shall receive holiday pay ifthe holiday falls within their <br />regular schedule. If a regular part-time employee is not scheduled and does not work on a City <br />holiday, then they receive 4 hours pay at their regular wage. If a regular part-time employee is <br />scheduled and works on a City approved holiday, then they will be paid regular wages for the <br />hours worked and receive 4 hours floating holiday time. The regular part-time employee that <br />substitutes for the scheduled employee will be paid regular wages for the hours worked, but will <br />not receive 4 hours floating holiday time because the holiday does not fall on the employee's <br />regular scheduled work day. <br /> <br />(6) Floating Holidays (Effective 1/1/04). On January 1, employees are provided 1 Yz floating <br />holiday days. This is separately accrued from vacation and sick leave. Employees can use their <br />
