<br />The purpose of this commission is to advise the council on all city land use planning matters. <br /> <br />Sec. 22-122. Composition generally; appointment, terms. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br />The planning commission shall be composed of seven (7) persons. Members will be <br />appointed for terms of three (3) years. All planning commission members shall be selected <br />by the city council. The city council may require the drafting of minimum standards which <br />must be met for a person to be eligible to serve as a member of the planning commission. <br />Appointees shall hold their offices until their successors are appointed and qualified. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-123. Planning commission chairperson. <br /> <br />The city council shall at its annual organization meeting select a planning commission <br />chairperson from the appointed membership for the planning commission, such chairperson's <br />term being for one (1) year. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-124. Duties. <br /> <br />The duties and responsibilities of the Commission shall be: <br /> <br />(a) Develop, maintain and review the comprehensive plan and make recommendations on <br />such document prior to submittal to the council. <br /> <br />(b) Review all planning matters which according to the city code require review by the <br />planning commission. In reporting its recommendations to the council, the planning <br />commission shall do so by means of a resolution making findings of fact and <br />recommending an action to be taken. <br /> <br />(c) The planning commission shall further review and make recommendations on other <br />planning matters when so directed by the council. <br /> <br />(d) Maintain ongoing relationship and awareness of Economic Development Commission <br />agendas, discussions, and actions through attendance at meetings, staff updates, and <br />sharing of meeting minutes. <br /> <br />(e) Perform other duties and functions or conduct studies and investigations as directed by <br />council. <br /> <br />Sec. 2-125. State law. <br /> <br />Operations and procedures of the planning commission will be carried out in compliance with <br />MN statutes, sections 462.351 - 462.365. <br /> <br />CLL80560 <br />NE136-98 <br />
