Whenever a member <br />of the police department removes a vehicle .Ii <br />from a street under this section and is <br />not able to ascertain the name of the I <br />owner, or for any reason is unable to . <br />give notice to the owner as hereinbefore ,l <br />provided, and in the event that the <br />vehicle is not returned to the owner <br />within five days, the member shall then <br />promptly send or cause to be sent a <br />written copy of such removal, by mail, <br />to the registrar of motor vehicles of <br />the State of Minnesota and shall file a <br />copy of such report with the proprietor <br />of the place in which the vehicle is <br />stored. Such report shall include a <br />complete description of the vehicle, the <br />date, time and place from which removed, <br />the reasons for such removal, and the <br />name of the garage or other place where <br />the vehicle is stored. <br /> <br />(d) Costs of Impoundment. Any person whose <br />vehicle is lawfully impounded under the <br />provisions of this section shall pay the <br />reasonable costs of such impounding and <br />the reasonable storage charges for the <br />storage of such vehicle before such <br />vehicle is surrendered to him. <br /> <br />That Section 29-31, Keys in ignition, is <br />hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to <br />leave the key to the ignition in the <br />ignition switch or other conspicuous place <br />within a motor vehicle while the motor <br />vehicle is parked and unattended. <br /> <br />(a) Police Authorized to Remove Keys. <br />Whenever any member of the police <br />department of the city shall find <br />any such motor vehicle parked in <br />violation of Section 29-31, he/she <br />is authorized and directed to remove <br />the keys left therein and to deliver <br />the same to the officer in charge of <br />the police department. <br /> <br />That Section 29-32, Prima Facie Evidence, <br />is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />NO parking after snowfall. <br /> <br />No person shall park or leave standing <br />any vehicle on any street or roadway <br />after a snowfall of at least three (3) <br />inches. Parking may be resumed on such <br />streets or roadways after the snow has <br />been removed or plowed to the curb line. <br />
