In the event any <br />dog is found in the city of New Brighton by the New Brighton Polic <br />or the city dog control agent in violation of Section 630:04, <br />630:06, 630:08 and the oWner or keeper is known or can be <br />ascertained from available information, the dog shall be returned <br />to its owner and a citation for such violation shall be issued to <br />1 the owner or keeper of such animal. If the Owner or keeper be <br />unknown, then such dog shall be impounded. <br /> <br />Section 630:12. Redemption. Any dog impounded under <br />630:10 may be redeemed from the pound by the owner or keeper with n <br />five (5) d;,=J,Ys by the payment to the'Clerk of the license fee if <br />the dog is not licensed, together with an impounding fee of $5.00 <br />plus $3.00 for each day the dog is confined in the pound as the <br />cost of feeding and housing plus fifty percent. (50%) of the cost <br />of veterinary services provided. <br />Section 630:14. Release. Upon the presentation of proof of <br />a valid license for such dog and payment of the fees provided in <br />Section 630:12,. the poundkeeper shall release to the owner the dog <br />claimed by him. The poundkeeper shall further take the necessary <br />steps to cause the. owner of the dog to be charged with any violati n <br />of Section 630 of the New Brighton City Code Which gave rise to <br />the impounding of the animal. <br /> <br />Section 630:16. Disposition of Unclaimed Dogs. Any dog <br />which is not claimed as provided in Section 630:12, within five ~;(5 <br />days after impounding, not including Sunday or holidays, may be <br />sold for not less than the amount provided in Section 630:12 to <br />anyone desiring to purchase the dog, if not requested by a license <br />educational or scientific institution under Minnesota Statutes <br />35.71. All sums received above the costs and tax shall be placed <br />by the Clerkin the general fund of the city. Any dog which is <br />not claimed by the owner ,or sold sha1.1,.bedisposed of. <br /> <br />Section 630:18. Establishment 'ofPound. A City pound is <br />hereby established for the purpose of placing this ordinance in <br />effect which shall be at such 10catiol,1, either'1ithinor without <br />the City, as the council by resolution shall de'signate. <br /> <br />, , , <br /> <br />Section 630 :20. Interference wIth Officers. It shall be <br />unlawful for any unauthorized person to break open the pound or to <br />attempt to do so, or to take or let out any dogs therefrom, or to <br />take or attempt to take from any officer any dog taken hy him in <br />compliance with this ordinance or ,in. any manner to interfere with <br />or hinder such officer in the discharge of his duties under' this <br />ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 630:22. Dis~ased or vicious Dogs.
