No <br />person shall-be convicted under the provisions of this ordinance <br />except upon evidence of two or more ad111t'person, each of a <br />different household, and no warrants1Bl1he issued eKcept after <br />five (5) days written notice has been mail:ediDXdelivered to the <br />occupant of the premises where such dog is kept or harbored, <br />advising that a complaint has 'been madea'P9ut the dog and calling <br />attention to the provisions of this sectL..oo.oft'fe co~e. <br /> <br />Section 630: 24 Bitin9" Quarantine .W'hen~ver any dog or <br />anima.l has bitten anY person, the owner'ot:' custodian of such dog <br />or animal, having been so notified by the New Brighton Police <br />shall immediately cause the dog or animal to he quarantined at <br />the New Brighton Dog Pound for a period of ten (lQl days <br />after such person has been bitten by'said dog or animal. <br />During the quarantine period, said dog or animal shall be kept <br />under observation to determine its conditionLantlif it is found <br />to be sick or diseased, the operator of the quarantine facility <br />shall immediately report in writing to the New Bri.ghton Police <br />the condition of the dog or animal. During the quarantine periOd <br />the dog or animal shall not be removed from the designated <br />quarantine facility except by special written permit from the <br />Minnesota Livestock Sanitary Board and the New Br.ighton Police. <br />The owner of said dog or animal sha.ll be responsible for the cost <br />of such quarantine. The quarantine required by tbis section shal <br />not be necessary and the requirements shall be waived whenever <br />the owner or custodian of such dog or animal; immediately upon <br />receipt of the notice referred to above, presents to the New <br />Brighton Police the certificate of an authorized veterinarian <br />that the dog or an.imal was vaccinated for rabies on a date lees <br />than one year prior to the date of such notice. <br /> <br />Section 630:26 Rabies Vaccination. Before any license shall <br />be issued for any dog, the' applicant for such license shall <br />furnish a certificate from a licensed veterinarian that such dog <br />has received a rabies vaccination wifu in one ., year. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Section 630:28 M~zling proclamation. whenever the prevalen e <br />of hydrophobia tenders such action necessary, to protect the <br />public health and safety, the mayor shall issue a proclamation <br />ordering every persOXl owning or keeping a dog to confine it <br />securely on his premi'ses unless it is muzzled so that it Cal not <br />bite.
