The 1966 ordinance Code of the Village of New <br />Brighton Section 240:30 is hereby amended to read: <br /> <br />Section 240:30 Sick LeaVe <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Eligibility. Sick leave with pay shall be granted <br />to all probationary and permanent employees at the rate, of one <br />working day for each calendar month of full-time servic~or major <br />fraction-t,hereof, except that sick leave granted prob9tionary <br />employees shall not be available for use until satisfactory <br />completion of the initial probationary period. Promotional <br />probationary employees may make use of sick leave: however, if <br />the sick leave exceeds a total of five (5) working days, the <br />probationary period shall automatically be extended a like period <br />of time. i <br /> <br />Subc;t. 2. Accrual anfr't'Use. Sick leave may oeaccumulated to <br />a maximum of 120 days. Sick leave may be granted only for <br />absence from duty because of tpersonal illness, disability <br />occurring off-duty, leqal quarantine, or death or serious illness, <br />,ioc:the' i~ediate family. The immediate family isdefinea as the <br />following kin of either the employee or the employee's spouse: <br />children, mother, father, sister, bro~her, or grandparents. <br />procedures for disability occurring on-duty are governed by the <br />provisions of Section 240:31, Ulnjured on Duty. II <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Proof Required. In order to be eligible for sick <br />leave with pay, an employee must: <br /> <br />1. Report promptly to his department head the reason for <br />his absence. <br /> <br />2. Keep his department head informed of his condition, it <br />the ,absence is more than three (3) days duration. <br /> <br />3. Submit a medical certificate for any absence exceeding <br />three (3) days if required by the Village Manager. <br /> <br />Subd. 4." Penalty.
