NEW BRIGHTON PARK AND RECREATION <br />JANUARY 6, 1988 <br />I. The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by Chairman <br />Johnson <br />II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Kalina, <br />Olson, Rose, Van Hatten, Council <br />Representative Williams <br />Also present: Erny Mattila, City-Planner, <br />Ken Briggs, Harstad Company Director of <br />Development <br />Ken. Simons, Ramsey County Park Planner <br />Mr. Schilling, Resident <br />Members Absent: Blomquist, Seward <br />III. MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY ROSE, TO APPROVE THE <br />MINUTES OF DECEMBER 2, 1987. (THE NOVEMBER MINUTES WERE <br />NOT OFFICIAL BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT A QUORUM SO THEY WERE <br />NOT APPROVED.) <br />IV. Correspondence <br />A. Council Report <br />Williams asked if the Council minutes the Park Board <br />received had been helpful. <br />Carlson said -they were very helpful. <br />The Council held it's first reading on the <br />underground utility ordinance. The cost would be <br />minimum to the citizens. Over a period of time it <br />would cleanup the City aesthetically. <br />A trucking firm had approached the City and wanted to <br />build a truck trailer storage area adjacent to Rush <br />Lake. Williams said he didn't like it. It looks <br />bad, increases traffic in that area and generally not <br />desirable. The other council members agreed. <br />The Council approved the .development agreement for <br />the elderly building downtown, close to City Hall. <br />Johnson stated he wishes now that the 4 plex <br />apartment building would have been taken out. <br />Williams agreed. <br />Williams said the 2nd St. development on the SE <br />corner of the pole yards was also approved. <br />
