NEW BRIGHTON PARK AND RECREATION
JANUARY 6, 1988
I. The meeting was called to order at 7:35pm by Chairman
Johnson
II. Members present: Carlson, Eichers, Johnson, Kalina,
Olson, Rose, Van Hatten, Council
Representative Williams
Also present: Erny Mattila, City-Planner,
Ken Briggs, Harstad Company Director of
Development
Ken. MOTION BY VAN HATTEN, SECONDED BY ROSE, TO APPROVE THE
MINUTES OF DECEMBER 2, 1987. (THE NOVEMBER MINUTES WERE
NOT OFFICIAL BECAUSE THERE WAS NOT A QUORUM SO THEY WERE
NOT APPROVED.)
IV. Correspondence
A. Council Report
Williams asked if the Council minutes the Park Board
received had been helpful.
Carlson said -they were very helpful.
The Council held it's first reading on the
underground utility ordinance. The cost would be
minimum to the citizens. Over a period of time it
would cleanup the City aesthetically.
A trucking firm had approached the City and wanted to
build a truck trailer storage area adjacent to Rush
Lake. Williams said he didn't like it. It looks
bad, increases traffic in that area and generally not
desirable. The other council members agreed.
The Council approved the .development agreement for
the elderly building downtown, close to City Hall.
Johnson stated he wishes now that the 4 plex
apartment building would have been taken out.
Williams agreed.
Williams said the 2nd St. development on the SE
corner of the pole yards was also approved.
