MINUTES <br /> New Brighton Economic Development Commission <br /> Regular Meeting— May 10, 2005 <br /> 7:00 a.m. <br /> Members/Liaisons Present: Bob Benke, Gene Delaune, Lisa Harreld, Dennis Flahave, Linda <br /> Harmon, Shannon Meyer, Mark Nelson, Ken Johnson, and Gary Stang. <br /> Members/Liaisons Absent: Sharon Doffing, Steve Larson and John Kaufho <br /> Staff Present: Grant Fernelius, David Black, Patrick Boylan and Jennifer Lava ska. <br /> Call to Order <br /> Linda Harmon called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes lei <br /> The minutes of the March 8 and April 12, 2005 meeting were pres ted for approval. All <br /> approved. <br /> Northwest Quadrant Report CR— \ <br /> Planning <br /> Geoff Martin presented the updated redev ment plan to the Planning Commission, Public <br /> Safety Commission, and Parks & Recreation mission since last month's EDC meeting. <br /> Comments have been largely posit". Black indicated that he would put <br /> together a • -• . •ext • • ' eeting. <br /> Post Office <br /> The Postal Se is advertising for proposals for a new post office for this area. The City will <br /> respond as req red. <br /> Staff met for the first time with a representative of the owner of the post office property. The <br /> meeting went well, and it is anticipated that we will be able to reach agreement on the purchase <br /> of the building by the time the post office is ready to relocate to new quarters. Staff also met <br /> with the representatives from Bell Pole. The first portion of the survey has been completed and <br /> the City is still working with Bell on a land swap agreement. <br />
