-<< .: ORDINANCE NO. 1 c () '~ VILLAGE OF NEW BRIGHTON COUNTY OF RAMSEY S'rATE OF }1INNESOTA AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR LICENSING BICYCLES, REGULATING THEIR USE, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. The Council of the Village of New Brighton does ordain as follows: Section 1. Definition. For purposes of this ordinance the term "bicycle" includes any devise propelled by human power upon which any person may ride, having two tandem wheels, and any other devise generally recognized as a bicycle though equipped with two front or two rear wheels. Section 2. License required. No resident of the Village of New Brighton shall ride or propel a bicycle upon any street or other highway in the Village unleSS such bioycle has been licensed and a license:', tag is attached as provided in this ordinance. Section 3. Procedure. (1) Application for a bicycle license shall be made to the Police Department of the Village of New Brighton on a form to be approved by the Village Attorney. The application shall be accompanied by a fee of Sol which shall be paid into the Village Treasury upon the granting of a license. Upon receipt of such application in proper form and after a determination upon inspection that the bicycle to be licensed is in safe condition and equipped as required by this ordinance, the Polioe Department shall firmly attach to the frame of the bicycle a nillnbered license tag furnished by the Village. A registration card with corresponding numbers shall be issued to the owner of the bicycle and a duplicate card shall be retained by the Police Department. (2) hvery license shall expire on the 1st day of 0 C + <..} be ( of each year. (3) Within thirty days after ownership of a licensed bioycle has been transferred, the new owner shall make application to the Police Department for a transfer of registration, returning the old registration card with his applioation. A new registration card shall then be issued without charge to the new owner.
