COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />Pursuant to due call and published notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the New Brighton City Council was held at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 28, <br />1976, in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 803 5th Avenue NW, <br />New Brighton, Minnesota <br />Present: Mayor Gayle C. Bromander, Councilmen Gene Fisher, Paul Hardt, <br />Jim Senden, Fritz Werdouschegg <br />Also <br />Present: Thomas F. Lewcock, City Manager; Donald L. Lais, City Attorney; <br />James J. Kleinschmidt, Director of Public Works; <br />Vernon C. Pederson, City Clerk -Treasurer <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Hardt, seconded by Senden to approve <br />minutes of regular meeting Dec. 14, 1976. <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Unfinished Business <br />Mayor Bromander appointed Roger Williams, 26 19th Ave SW, <br />to the HRA to fill term to expire October, 1979. <br />Motion by Fisher, seconded by Hardt to approve Mayor's <br />appointment <br />5 ayes- 0 nayes- carried <br />Public Hearings <br />Attorney stated hearing was properly called. <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator reviewed the <br />planning report and Planning Commission recommendations. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg asked how the parcel related to <br />the surrounding property. <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator stated that <br />Polynesian Village was located to the west, 8th Street NW <br />to the south, on the east side lots were already <br />developed with the exception of one lot which could be <br />potentially subdivided and to the north, two large lots <br />with single family dwellings. <br />Councilman Werdouschegg asked if the lots to the north <br />were substantially larger than standard lots. <br />The Building and Planning Coordinator stated that they <br />were and there was a possibility of running a north - <br />south street from 8th Street to 10th Street and at least <br />8 lots could be created. <br />Gene Skiba, applicant, was present to respond to questions. <br />In response to a question from Councilman Werdouschegg, <br />Mr. Skiba stated that the property had no low areas <br />within it. <br />Mayor Bromander stated he felt the proposed plat was an <br />under -utilization of land. <br />Minutes <br />Mayor's <br />Appointment <br />HRA <br />VN -166 <br />PL -108 <br />8:07 to <br />8:30 <br />
