<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />iL .. <br /> <br />.;, ~' I <br /> <br />,'~' "~~." ~'~,IJ.\, \ ...' <br /> <br />'.' <br /> <br />r""" <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof a regular meeting of the New Brighton City <br />Council was held Tuesday, July 27, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal <br />building, 803 5th Avenue NW, New Brighton, Minnesota. <br /> <br />\. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Bob Benke, Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janacek, <br />Steve Schmidt <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Gregg Harcus <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />James Fornell, City Manager <br />Charles LeFevere, City Attorney <br />John Grau, Acting Director of Finance <br />Les Proper, Director of Public Works <br />James Winkels, Director of Community Development <br />Joan Archer, City Planner <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />In the absence of Mayor Harcus, Acting Mayor Blomquist presided. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Janecek to approve the minutes of July 13, 1982 <br />as presented. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Blomquist, with the consent of the City Council, directed <br />receipt of the Civil Service Commission minutes of June 22, 1982 and <br />July 16, 1982 and the Planning Commission minutes of July 20, 1982. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br />Mr. Rick Poston, representing the New Brighton Jaycees, <br />presented and read a letter from the Stockyard Days <br />committee expressing on behalf of the committee the <br />appreciation to the City for all its efforts in making the <br />1982 Stockyard Days a success. <br /> <br />Stockyard Days <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Blomquist on behalf of the City Council, <br />thanked Mr. Poston and Mr. Bromander, co-directors of <br />the New Brighton Stockyard Days, Inc., and indicated <br />that the City appreciated their efforts and noted that <br />the.celebration was a very worthwhile event. <br /> <br />Ms. Donna Blazevic, representing the New Brighton <br />Human Rights Commission, presented and read a <br />Certificate of Commendation regarding efforts of <br />the New Brighton Human Rights Commission which was <br />awarded by Governor Al Quie. <br /> <br />Certificate of <br />Commendation - <br />Human Rights Commission <br />
