RESOLUTION No. 09-079 STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON RESOLUTION ADOPTING AN AMENDED AND UPDATED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON PURSUANT TO MINNESOT STATE STATUTES WHEREAS, the 1976 Metropolitan Land Planning Act (MLPA) requires nnunities within the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area to develop and update once every years a local comprehensive plan that includes elements as described in Chapter 473 tion 859 of the Minnesota Statutes including land use, public facilities, and lementation strategies, and WHEREAS, Chapter 473 Section 175 of the Minnesota Statues gives the )politan Council the authority to review local comprehensive plans to determine compatibility with each other and conformity with the metropolitan system plans, WHEREAS, Chapter 473 section 864 Subdivision 2 of the Minnesota Statues ded the MLPA in 1995 to require decennial reviews of the local comprehensive to be completed by December 31, 2008, and WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton last updated its comprehensive plan on y 11, 2000 after receiving an extension to the December 31, 1999 deadline, and WHEREAS, on April 15, 2008, the Planning Commission of the City of New ghton held a public hearing on the 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan Update l recommended the City Council authorize submission of the plan update to the tropolitan Council, and WHEREAS, the City Council from May 2008 through December 2008 directed itional revisions to the 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan Update, which were reviewed by the Planning Commission, in advance of submitting the plan to the ;ropolitan Council for review and approval, and WHEREAS, on December 9, 2008 the City Council of the City of New Brighton 1 Resolution 08-117 authorizing submission of the 2030 New Brighton ;hensive Plan Update to the Metropolitan Council for review and approval, and
